Dean and I plan to leave Maine to head to NY to start on our first planned leg of The Great Loop trip, which has been a dream for awhile. We will live on our 36′ Monk trawler, named after our beautiful mother/mother-in-love, Clare Jones Bensley. We’ve left the sailing life for awhile, and look forward to seeing the northeast from inland waterways: Hudson River, Erie Canal, Lake Champlain, Ottawa, Montreal, and more! 

We are both very fortunate to have jobs that are letting us take this leave to travel and explore, and family and friends who will join us along the way.  Currently, we are busy planning, Dean is doing a load of boat projects, and we are getting our land-life settled for our departure in early June 2019.
